PRACTICALITIES
Initial meeting
The initial appointment is fundamental for both me and you to make a decision whether
to work together. It’s also the opportunity for you to ask questions, find out more
about the therapeutic process, talk about what you hope to get out of it and agree
a desirable outcome that we both feel is realistic and achievable. If you decide
to continue with a psychotherapy or counselling programme, you will be asked to commit
to attending regular weekly sessions, which will take place at the same time and
place each week. Different rules will apply to coaching contracts, and these will
be agreed at the initial session.
Duration and frequency of sessions
Once weekly, 50-minute sessions are the norm. These can be for a limited period or
open-ended for more in-depth analytic work (where frequency can also be increased
up to 2-3 times a week). We will discuss the potential duration of our work during
the initial meeting and this can be reviewed by you at any stage. Evenings and Saturdays
appointments are available.
Cancellations and missed sessions
Once the first appointment has been booked, I require at least 48 hours notice if
you decide to cancel, otherwise the full agreed fee is payable. After the initial
appointment, if you decide to continue we will agree a regular time which will be
set aside for you as a dedicated on-going slot and missed sessions will have to be
paid for.
Confidentiality
All information is treated in the strictest confidence in accordance with the UKCP’s
Code of Ethics.
Fees
My standard fees vary between £50-£80 for individual therapy and £60-90 for couple
therapy. My fee is calculated depending on the time and day of the regular slot requested,
as well as personal financial circumstances.
Location
My consulting room is conveniently located in central London in
Bloomsbury, just 5 minutes’ walk from King’s Cross and Euston tube
stations. See contact page for further details.
