The initial appointment is fundamental for both me and you to make a decision whether to work together. It’s also the opportunity for you to ask questions, find out more about the therapeutic process, talk about what you hope to get out of it and agree a desirable outcome that we both feel is realistic and achievable. If you decide to continue with a psychotherapy or couple therapy programme, you will be asked to commit to attending regular sessions.
Duration and frequency of meetings
Once weekly sessions are the norm, although there will be times when it may be clinically appropriate to have sessions more or less frequently. The standard length is 50 minutes. Sessions can continue for a limited period of time or on an open-ended basis for more in-depth analytic work. We will discuss the potential duration of our work during the initial meeting and this can be reviewed at any stage.
My London practice is located near Fleet Street, at 1 Bell Yard, London WC2A 2JR. The nearest tube stations are Holborn or Chancery Lane on the Central line and Temple on the District and Central line. The nearest train station is City Thameslink.
The fees payable per session vary depending whether the session happens on a weekday or weekend and range from £90 to £120 per 50-minute session.
I accept payments in cash, via bank transfer and via PayPal. Payment is due within 24 hours of the session having taken place.
If you are unable to come to my London office, I can offer you sessions via video conference (Zoom, FaceTime or other suitable video platform) subject to clinical assessment for suitability.
